The classes focus on literacy-based learning to help children acquire the skills, knowledge, and behaviors they need to transition successfully into Kindergarten. Emphasis is placed on pre-academic and school readiness skills such as listening and communicating, reading and number concepts, and playing and working together. Wee Lads and Lasses offers a wide range of developmentally appropriate, enriching activities while focusing on each child’s individual social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.

Teacher, Valerie Rock

I graduated with my Elementary Education degree in 2005 from Kansas State University after graduating from Chapman High School in 2001. I have taught Kindergarten, Prekindergarten, and Fifth Grade. Also, during my time as an educator I became a Preschool Director. My time as a director taught me a lot more on the aspects of running a great preschool program that would benefit students and parents and I really enjoyed that position! In 2015 I returned to Chapman to teach in the elementary school. I love this district and town and am so happy that I get to help teach the next group of Chapman Irish!
