Cold Weather Guidelines
Students are to wear coats when temperature is below 50 degrees.
Students will have indoor recess if temperature is 20
degrees or lower, inclusive of wind chill.
Students will be encouraged to wear hats, head coverings, gloves, scarves, and other appropriate winter attire
RESPECT OTHERS
- By not wrestling, tackling, or having physical contact
- By using school appropriate language
- By complying and respecting adult requests
- By remaining with your class on the playground in designated areas/zones
- By sharing and playing
RESPECT PROPERTY
- By using equipment as intended
- By not standing , jumping, or playing tag one equipment
- By jumping rope on concrete only
- By leaving dirt, rocks, insects, and sand on the ground and not playing with/in sand and rubber chips
- By using only school equipment on the playground
- By using playground balls in designated areas only, and not on playground structures
APPROPRIATE USE OF THE SLIDE
- By
sitting down on your bottom, feet first, and not stopping the slide
- By taking turns, one at a time
- By not walking or running up the slide
APPROPRIATE USE OF THE SWINGS
- By
swinging back and forth, not sideways
- By sitting appropriately on your bottom in the seat
- By not doing "underdogs"(going under the swing)
- By not kicking, flipping, or dragging feet in sand/dirt
